If you’ve followed the blog for the past few years, then you’re probably familiar with our annual All-Tournament teams. At the conclusion of the sectional playoffs every year, I reach out to all of the coaches whose teams made it to the quarterfinals or further and ask for their nominations. These teams are meant to recognize the players who stepped up in crunch time, not necessarily the guys who had the best all-around seasons. Those players will be found in our Journal News All-Stars, which will be announced later this month.
We split it up into three teams—one for Class AA, one for A and a combined team for B and C. I tried to be accurate with the positions for each player, but with so many pitchers nominated, I listed some of them at their secondary positions just to make sure the most deserving players were mentioned. As you would expect, the further a team went, the more likely they were to earn multiple spots.
